Pyrénées Orientales: Les Aspres

Filed under: General — Marina @ 10:00 pm
This beautiful creation of the Marina's artists team is made after an old stone Mas in les Asprès on 1 hectare of land, that was sold by my colleague James (who happens to be on a roll - or selling like crazy if you like- you will see many more paintings of houses from his area "the 66" in September).
Les Asprès is 30 minutes from Céret and an hour from Perpignan and this stone farmhouse has amazing views across the mountains beyond Fort Belle Guarde at Perthus on the Spanish border. The house uses water from it's own spring and the former owners have been almost self sufficient with vegetables from their garden.
Apart from the lovely mas itself, there is a lovely summer house under a weeping willow in the garden, a great spot to enjoy BBQs with seating around an old millstone table. There is also an old agricultural building, large enough to make into a gite, or which could be rebuilt as a house.
The countryside abounds with natural produce - herbs, fruit and mushrooms. An excellent home with much development potential, located in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. We wish the new owners all the happiness in the world with their beautiful new property!

Valbonne - Nightlife

Filed under: General — Marina @ 8:56 pm
Last week I promised to write a bit about the nightlife of Valbonne. I thought I would be out there the next night, but I have been so busy (painting) that the first occasion was yesterday!

Luckily, in Valbonne, it is always lively, autumn, winter, spring and summer!
The whole village is alive, right now in high season, all a bit extra, with music, clowns, mime players, fire eaters and the "light man" as we call him. Balloons for the children and much more...

Of course the best place to be is the "place des Arcades" with the great terraces, "Les Arcades", "Terra Rossa", "JDeed" and "l'Auberge"
The other restaurants have their tables outside in the streets. Everybody at the long tables, is eating, drinking, talking to each other (hilarious as this is in many many different languages) and having a good time. Also in Valbonne: the Riviera Home Finders office... but we're closed most nights! Too busy having fun with our clients, showing them the South-French way of life...

Valbonne

Filed under: General — Marina @ 10:36 pm
Riviera Home Finders' Dazzling Duo Jeroen and Catherine did it again: they sold another villa, in Valbonne, where a happy French family will go live in this marvelous house in walking distance to the centre and close to the schools and their work in Sophia Antipolis... The former owner sold her house because she moves back to Spain where most of her family lives.
Of course the Marina artists' team did a painting for both of them, one up here, another in the making! I'll show it in the next blog about Valbonne's terrace nightlife. That's more than worth a visit... But first I'll have to go there (sigh - but somebody has to do it) to take some pictures...

Chateau des Demoiselles La Motte

Filed under: General — Marina @ 8:28 pm
A great combination - fine wine and fine art! Until 31st of October you can combine free wine tasting and an exhibition of aquarelles by yours truly in Chateau des Demoiselles in La Motte!
There are no paintings of Riviera Home Finders' houses, but portraits and abstracts, that go quite well with the interior, soft grey walls, old beams and beautiful old tiles...
And last but not least, the paintings form a fitting background and decoration for the bottles of red, white and rosé Demoiselles that were judged "feminin, expressive and gastronomic" by a professional French jury.
